Rashford prioritises Milan move as Rossoneri work on financial details

Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford has reportedly made a move to AC Milan his top priority, according to Italian outlets Gazzetta dello Sport and Corriere dello Sport. However, the Rossoneri face financial hurdles in their bid to secure the England striker.

The reports suggest that Rossoneri are negotiating a deal that would see Rashford join on loan in January, but the Serie A giants are unable to cover the entirety of the England international’s €13 million annual salary.

To facilitate the move, Milan will need Man United to cover a portion of Rashford’s wages, or the 27-year-old will need to agree to a reduced salary until the end of the season.

If Milan manage to sign Rashford, he would become the highest-paid player in the squad, on par with Rafael Leao. The Rossoneri are reportedly prepared to offer a salary in the range of €3 million to €5 million until June, with discussions on a longer-term arrangement to follow.

As Milan aim to strengthen their squad for the second half of the Serie A campaign, Rashford’s potential arrival would mark a significant boost to their attacking options.
