Air France KLM celebrates customers in grand style

Air-France-KLM

In a bid to thank all its customers for their continued patronage and support through the years Air France KLM held a grand dinner event at the Intercontinental hotel, Lagos.

Jean-Raoul Tauzin, in his welcome address said “The General Manager Air France KLM Nigeria & Ghana, thank you all for your continued patronage and support of both Air France & KLM.  Through the good and the bad times you have been with us and trust us to take care of your safety and comfort on ground as well as on board our flights.

You have grown from being our esteemed clients to being esteemed members of our “BLUE” family. The success of our company would not have been possible without the support of you. So I say once again thank you,” he told the customers.

Speaking on the performance of the airline in 2015, he explained that it has been a difficult year, especially with the challenge of dollar exchange in the country but Air France has been able to mitigate the challenges with a focus on promotions and presence in the market.

“Although it has been a difficult year but with all the promotions done in the last five months, we have been able to catch up a bit but not to compensate the entire period of 2015,” Tauzin said.

Winners of the raffle draw at the event were given tickets to various countries in Europe.

The event did not only give Air France KLM the opportunity to appreciate its customers, but it also created an avenue to get feedback from its customers on how to serve them better.

The dinner had in attendance 150 guests including Jonathan Olopade who is one of the airline’s pioneer customers in Nigeria. He has been flying KLM & Air France for more than 50 years.

The General Manager also highlighted some of the product and services updates on both Air France & KLM which are as follows:

KLM took delivery of its 2nd B787 Dreamliner recently, this aircraft will serve Abu Dhabi/Bahrain route. During the winter season 2016, The Dreamliner will also fly to Dubai and also Rio de Janeiro.  Though it will not be available on the Lagos/Amsterdam route (yet), customers can enjoy the features of this aircraft to these routes when connecting from Amsterdam.

From the 27th of March 2016, we will be having the B777-200 on KLM’s Lagos/Amsterdam route.  This aircraft is fitted with the new KLM cabins, full-flat seats in World Business Class and extra legroom in Economy Class. This means more comfort for our customers irrespective of the class they fly in. A new inflight entertainment system is also available in the 2 cabins.

On Air France’s Lagos/Paris route, we will also be changing our aircraft starting 27th of March 2016.  We will operate the A340-300 from 27th of March, till the 4th of May, then the B777-200 for 5 months before having  the A340-300 back again in October. Both aircrafts are spacious, offering more leg room and overall comfort.

Air France & KLM are offering new destinations in Europe, the US and Canada, namely (Point à Pitre, Glasgow, Tehran, Ibiza, Salt Lake City) some of them operated in conjunction with our SkyTeam partners.

Arthur Dieffenthaler, Commercial Director, Air France KLM explained that what has been put in place to stimulate traffic is a lot of promotions to capture current clients, adding that the airline has been able to target new nature of customers, with its social media campaign.

“As far as traffic is concern, we saw results as we had improved in traffic compared to the previous months of the year. With a new government in place and a working ministry, we are focusing to continue with a lot of promotions and presence in the market to stimulate the traffic.”
