Abiola Salami, convener of ‘EMERGE 2024’ a youth empowerment initiative, has disclosed that Nigerian youths were vital to shaping the country’s future, disclosing that mastering emotional intelligence can empower youth to navigate challenges, build meaningful relationships, and achieve long-term success.

According to him, EMERGE2024 underscored the vital role that the youth play in shaping the future, and provided them with the tools and inspiration needed to reach their full potential.

The initiative brought together young minds from diverse backgrounds to engage, learn, and be inspired toward achieving peak performance in their personal and professional lives, at the American Corner in Ikeja with support from Peak Performer Africa, in collaboration with First Bank and McVities.

“As the youth of today emerge as the leaders of tomorrow, events like this serve as a reminder of the boundless possibilities that await those who are willing to take personal responsibility and strive for peak performance,” he stated.

According to Salami, the collaboration between these organisations demonstrates a shared commitment to empowering the next generation of leaders. “The Peak Performer Africa will be holding its flagship program – The Peak Performer Festival, from 18th – 20th of September with the theme “Driving an Inclusive Culture of Peak Performance – Leveraging The Magic of Emotional Intelligence.”

EMERGE 2024 also featured three panel discussions focused on the theme of ‘Peak Performance: The Place of Taking Personal Responsibility’. Panelists shared their insights on the significance of personal accountability as a driver for achieving excellence. They also encouraged the youth to take charge of their destinies, set high standards for themselves, upskill, and commit to continuous personal growth.

A key feature of the event was the unveiling of TPP Africa’s maiden list of 100 highly inspiring young Africans drawn from across multiple industries and the continent. This is to spotlight some inspiring young Africans who are making an impact in their respective fields, driving positive change across the globe and inspiring multiple generations.
