I want to leave enviable legacy for Aboh Mbaise, says Irechukwu

Osun govt attributes high debt profile to 12 years of APC rule

Irechukwu Okereke, a chairmanship aspirant under the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area in the forthcoming Local Government Council election in Imo State, has said that he would leave an enviable legacy for the people if he wins the chairmanship election scheduled for August 22, 2024.

Irechukwu, a philanthropist and onetime elected councilor for Mbutu Ward, has worked as a special adviser to former senate presidents, including; Chuba Okadigbo, Adolphus Wagbara and Anyim Pius Anyim.

He stated that he used his position as a councilor and special adviser to attract and build infrastructure in the 12 wards of Aboh Mbaise Local Government Area.

According to him, some of his signature infrastructure projects include; construction of 30 shops in Afor Enyiogugu, three boreholes in different places in Enyiogugu, reconstruction of classroom blocks as well as equipping the primary schools in some wards in Enyiogugu and also in Nguru Nwenkwo, Nguru Nweke and Nguru Ahiato wards.

He stated that he renovated Oboama Nguru town hall, primary schools and equipped them with desks, built abattoirs in the major markets of the wards and also renovated Ahiato Secondary Technical School at Nguru Ahiato ward.

Irechukwu said that he replicated same in Umuhu, built classroom blocks at Okwuato Secondary School and installed solar lights in Ezuhu Umuhu.

Irechukwu , however, solicited for votes to do more for the people of Aboh Mbaise. “My father, Adolphus Okereke, did not leave large sums of money for me, but goodwill. I want to leave a legacy and goodwill like my father,” he concluded.
