According to research, female owned businesses make up about 48 per cent of small and medium scale enterprises (SMEs) in Nigeria. Only 17% of those businesses are supported by banks and other financial institutions, as a result many of these businesses do not survive.
In an effort to bridge this gap, AGS in collaboration with Ifedayo Durosinmi-Etti, an entrepreneur and author, launched the “AGS Enterprise Challenge”, a competition for female led businesses.
The Challenge which is in its second year, will see grants totaling N3,000,000, office spaces for 3 months and mentorship given to Female owned businesses in Nigeria.
