Heirs Insurance appoints Puri, Iroche as non-executive directors

Heirs Insurance Group (HIG) has appointed Ibrahim Puri and Sunny Iroche as independent non-executive directors of its non-life insurance business, Heirs General.

In a statement, the company disclosed that the appointments will strengthen HIG’s governance and leadership team.

Ibrahim Puri, a seasoned financial services leader, with over three decades of experience in the banking, fintech, and FMCG industries. His tenure at United Bank for Africa and current roles at RedTech and Nigeria Breweries underscore his deep understanding of the African financial landscape.

Sunny Iroche, on the other hand, offers over four decades of expertise in finance, investment promotion, and economic advisory. His leadership roles at the Transmission Company of Nigeria and United Capital Plc, coupled with his current position as Executive Chairman of Strategic Alliance Promotion Company, position him as a strategic asset to the HIG board.

The statement disclosed that Heirs Insurance Group is the insurance arm of Heirs Holdings, the pan-African investment company, with investments across 24 countries and four continents, founded and led by Tony Elumelu.
