Nigeria’s viewing audience is in for a thrilling and entertaining experience as ‘The Price is Right Nigeria’ a new game show debuts on paid television to strengthen family bonds and foster communal entertainment.

Known for its family-friendly atmosphere and the ability to unite people, the show resonates with Nigerian culture and emphasises strong family bonds.

According to the producer, Genesis Studios, the show is a world-class game show that engages and entertains families.

Nigeria’s entertainment industry is constantly evolving and the arrival of the Price is Right Nigeria would further diversify the programming options available to viewers.

The show, no doubt, offers viewers the chance to win life-changing prizes, taking into consideration that Nigerians aspire for better living standards, which could be achieved through entertainment.

The 52 episodes a season game show would be aired weekly with repeat episodes on broadcast stations such as AM Family and Showcase on DSTv, GoTv, TVC, STV, and WAPTv.

Mercy Ebunuta Abua, head of corporate communications and sales for the Price is Right Nigeria, said its production in Nigeria is more than just a game show to cut across cultural phenomenon waiting to happen.

According to Abua, the show taps into the Nigerian spirit of competition, celebrates everyday skills and provides a platform for brands to connect with a vibrant and engaged audience.

She said this exciting combination is sure to make the reality show, a resounding success.

“Products featured on the show become part of the game, seamlessly integrated into the pricing challenges. This creates an organic and engaging product placement opportunity for brands. That is why it is the right time right for the show in Nigeria,” Abua said.

Also speaking, David Olatubosun Olaegbe, executive producer, said the show is different from every other as it is loaded with opportunities for contestants who come on the show and brands that identify with the show.

Olaegbe said the show provides an opportunity for the audience to play for themselves and win grand prizes just by knowing the prices of everyday products, unlike other shows where the audience votes or cheers others on to success.

On her part, Anthonia Adeniyi, project manager/series producer said that running a good television production like The Price is Right requires a high level of attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and a team of skilled professionals.

Adeniyi said Genesis Studios was established to be regarded as the best content production company in the Nigerian media and entertainment industry.

“Having produced award-winning Television shows like ‘So Wrong So Wright’, and ‘Tales of Eve’, Genesis studios has acquired a five-year license from Fremantle, franchise owners to produce and broadcast the show in Nigeria.

Adeniyi said it is crucial to have a clear vision for the show and work hard to ensure that vision is brought to life as a producer striving to build a team of professionals who are not only experienced but also passionate about their craft is the goal.
