HOUSE OF GA’A (2024)

It seems like this is Bolanle Austine Peter’s year, we have had several fantastic movies this year and I’m sure more to come. This movie is another nice Yoruba movie topping the charts on Netflix. Well, I struggled with this movie a bit since it was shot in the Yoruba language, so you would have to read the English inscription to follow through with the movie, which I struggle a lot with. So Bashorun Ga’a was a great warrior, who won some battles and became a great man, bestowed with the power of appointing kings, he became so powerful and arrogant, that he allowed his power and position to get the better half of him, he began to misbehave and treat people cruelly forgetting that a day would come, when power would be taken away from him, remember that saying that absolute power corrupts absolutely that was the case of Bashorun in this movie, things moved so fast and quickly, and power changed hands, this lead o Bashorun’s downfall. The movie was intriguing and nice as they took us down memory lane to the old Oyo empire time, the cast did a perfect job, the cinematography was on point and they made the scenes look so real, I enjoyed how they brought the movie to life. The 120m Nollywood, drama, period pieces, based on real life, action, and African movie was directed by Bolanle Austine Peters, they featured actors like Femi Branch, Mike Afolarin, Funke Akindele, Femi Adebayo, Ibrahim Chatta, Toyin Ibrahim, Bimbo Manuel, Lateef Adedimeji, Adenii Johnson, Tosin Adeyemi.
