The Super Eagles camp is buzzing with activity as 22 players have reported ahead of Nigeria’s crucial 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Rwanda and Zimbabwe. Only midfielder Alhassan Yusuf is still expected to join the squad.

Twelve players were first to check in on Monday, followed by nine more arrivals on Tuesday morning. The first batch included Victor Osimhen, Bruno Onyemaechi, Papa Mustapha, Kayode Bankole, Amas Obasogie, and Tolu Arokodare, who participated in a gym session on Monday evening.

Later that night, Moses Simon, Victor Boniface, Raphael Onyedika, Jordan Torunarigha, Stanley Nwabali, Samuel Chukwueze, Bright Osayi-Samuel, and Igoh Ogbu also joined the camp.

By Tuesday morning, the team was further bolstered by the arrivals of captain William Troost-Ekong, Wilfred Ndidi, Calvin Bassey, Ademola Lookman, Alex Iwobi, Joseph Aribo, Ola Aina, and Sadiq Umar.

With Nigeria sitting in fifth place in Group C with just three points from four matches, head coach Eric Chelle is under immense pressure to turn things around. Anything less than victory in the upcoming games could see Nigeria miss out on back-to-back World Cup tournaments.

The Super Eagles are set to have their first official training session later tonight as they prepare for their must-win clash against Rwanda in Kigali on March 21, followed by a home fixture against Zimbabwe in Uyo on March 25.
