Coscharis Motors has unveiled the new Ford Territory, a midsize sport utility vehicle (SUV) in the Nigerian market. The vehicle was built to satisfy the work and leisure needs of its customers.
Speaking at the unveiling in Lagos recently, Fred Amobi, deputy group managing director of Coscharis Group, said the new Ford Territory had been designed for tech-savvy automobile enthusiasts.
According to him, the vehicle came with the latest technology and comfort that would satisfy the work and leisure needs of its customers and other stakeholders.
He said Coscharis Motors had put all necessary measures in place to ensure that people would enjoy the best ownership experience when they purchase the new Ford Territory.
“Our steadfastness in the regular introduction of new innovative products into the Nigerian automobile industry underpins the level of confidence we repose in the possibility of a revamped national economy. This is evident in the huge investment made in our automobile assembly plant located in Awoyaya, Lagos, where we currently assemble the Ford Ranger and other brands,” Amobi said.
Amobi further said that Coscharis Motors, the flagship subsidiary and the exclusive representative of the iconic Ford brand in Nigeria, has emphasised the leadership status within the Nigerian automobile ecosystem with the introduction of the new Ford Territory.
“As with all the brands and nameplates that we represent in Nigeria, Coscharis Motors has invested heavily in both human and material resources in order to ensure that all necessary support including workshop equipment, certified OEM trained technicians and OEM approved original parts and accessories required to keep the vehicle in top shape, for optimum performance at all times, are readily available,” he said.
He said that the product line-up of Coscharis Motors is one of the strongest and most diverse in Nigeria. With the introduction of the Ford Territory, it has become clear that the company will keep dominating the automobile sector of the market.
He expressed optimism that the new vehicle would get huge acceptance in Nigeria, adding that it would motivate them to add the nameplate to the list of its locally assembled Ford vehicles in Nigeria.
“This will surely translate into opportunity for more job creation, manpower development, and reduced product price among other things,” he added.

On his part, Justin Ngini, deputy general manager of Ford Sales at Coscharis Motors, took the stakeholders through the features of the new car and said it came with a 1.8-litre engine which made it economical in terms of fuel usage.
To him, the Ford Territory is equipped with Automatic High Beam Headlights, which provide great illumination and performance whenever it is needed.
He said the interior features include a large space for drivers and passengers, large leg room, and ample luggage space in the trunk.
Meanwhile, Tony Archibong, a user of the new Ford Territory, said the SUV is highly fuel efficient, comes with prestige for the user, and is pocket-friendly, especially during the post-subsidy era where there are high pump prices in Nigeria.
