Startupbootcamp Africa has announced it will host the second edition of its accelerator programme, Fast Track, in Lagos, on 7 April 2018, aimed at helping tech businesses in Nigeria grow and scale.

In a statement sent to BusinessDay, Startupbootcamp Africa (SBC) said it is building on the success of its inaugural 2017 Cape Town tech venture accelerator programme that brought Nigerian startup MOBicure and their flagship application UMOMi into the limelight.

“Fast Track events are a rare opportunity for start-ups across the globe to present their businesses to an elite group of mentors comprising industry experts, corporate executives and investors,” Philip Kiracofe and Zachariah George, co-founders of Startupbootcamp Africa said in a joint statement. “Through more than two hours of personal, dedicated one-on-one feedback from mentors and subject-matter experts, start-ups will be able to engage with the Startupbootcamp global community and will also be able to meet with industry executives and exposed to worldwide opportunities.”

The company also disclosed that it is partnering with Old Mutual Personal Finance to organise this year’s Fast Track.

“Through our partnership with Startupbootcamp, start-ups have the opportunity to leverage our expertise, experience, resources and talent to build more compelling commercial propositions with clear commercial outcomes, while our business and stakeholders in turn benefit from their innovative ideas,” Stanley Gabriel, head of Innovation at Old Mutual Personal Finance said.

Start-ups that participate in the 2018 Fast Track will get the opportunity to interact with SBC team, mentors and investors looking for suitable early-stage companies.

Additionally, the first ten start-ups to apply will receive instant feedback from a panel of industry mentors. The start-ups also stand a chance to receive invitation to the final selection day where the top ten from around the world will be required to join the three-month programme to be hosted in Cape Town, South Africa in September.
