After losing to Manchester City in the Community Shield last weekend, Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United side will aim to avoid another upset against Fulham, who triumphed 2-1 at Old Trafford last season, courtesy of a late goal by Super Eagles midfielder, Alex Iwobi.
The most anticipated Premier League clash of the weekend will take place at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, where new Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca faces his former side, Manchester City.
Maresca, who served as Pep Guardiola’s assistant during City’s treble-winning 2022/23 season, will hope to begin his tenure at Chelsea with a win. The corresponding fixture last season ended in an eight-goal thriller.
Elsewhere, Liverpool will kick off their Premier League campaign against newly promoted Ipswich Town on Saturday at
Portman Road, while Arsenal will host Wolverhampton Wanderers at the Emirates Stadium.
