Palmer, who joined Chelsea from Manchester City for £42.5 million last summer, has surpassed expectations by breaking Eden Hazard’s Chelsea record for the most goals and assists in a Premier League season. His performance has turned heads, proving him to be one of the top signings of the 2023/24 campaign.
The 22-year-old, previously earning £80,000 a week, will now see his salary adjusted to match the club’s leading earners, reflecting his impact and potential. Operating mainly as an attacking midfielder or winger, Palmer has been a crucial part of Chelsea’s success, netting 25 goals and providing 15 assists across 45 appearances.
Despite Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola’s efforts to retain him, Palmer was determined to join Chelsea, a decision Guardiola respected. The versatile attacker was named Premier League Young Player of the Season and Chelsea Player of the Season last term.
