PDP wins 2 senatorial seats, APC 1 in Edo

The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has won two senatorial seats out of the three seats in Edo State.

The senators were re-elected to represent their various senatorial districts. The senators re-elected on the platform of PDP are Clifford Ordia, representing Edo Central Senatorial district.

Ordia defeated his APC opponent, John Inegbedion with 56,048 votes who polled a total of 49,168 votes.

Also re-elected on the platform of PDP is Mathew Orhoghide. He is re-elected for the Edo South Senatorial district.

He polled 135,588 votes to defeat Patrick Obahiagbon of APC who got 121,957 votes.

However, Francis Alimikhena of the APC, won the Edo North Senatorial seat with 117, 783 votes against 80, 752 votes polled by Abubakar Momoh of PDP. With the final results, PDP retained higher number of senators in the state.
