Senate confirms appointment of Aliyu as ICPC chairman

Senate passes South-West Development Commission Bill for third reading

The Senate has confirmed the appointment of Musa Aliyu as chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practises and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC).

The Senate also confirmed the appointment of Saka Bolaji Suleiman and Prof. Gaji Dantata as members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission.

The upper chamber confirmed the nominees after screening them in a closed session.

Tinubu, on Wednesday, wrote to the Senate, requesting the speedy confirmation of his appointees.

Aliyu has been a lawyer and Attorney General of Jigawa State since September 2019. He holds a master’s and doctorate degrees in law. He was also named a Senior Advocate of Nigeria-designate in October 2023.

According to the ICPC, he has embarked upon many far-reaching reforms as Attorney-General.
