Kofo Akinkugbe, founder and CEO of SecureID Group, has reiterated the commitment of the fintech firm to deliver flawless digital solutions on the back of successes recorded with the re-launched the citizens’ card for the Lagos state government.
“We appreciate the opportunity to provide our expertise, particularly in the card’s manufacturing, which includes embedding multi-application chip modules, personalization of payment and biometric data, and fulfillment of the multi-purpose high-security Lagos Residents smart card,” Akinkugbe stated.
She further said that as a partner, SecureID will continue to work with the state to further enhance Lagos with applicable technology and bespoke digital solutions that will ensure flawless delivery of government commitments to Lagosians.
Akinkugbe who recently received the national honors award of the Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON) conferred on her by President Muhammadu Buhari, in appreciation of her contribution to Nigeria’s manufacturing and digital payment industries.

Sequel to this, SecureID won the Global System of Mobile Applications (GSMA), receiving accolades from various significant figures, including Nigeria’s Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo.
Akinkugbe, a member of the Nigerian Industrial Policy and Competitiveness Advisory Council as well as the Regulators’ Forum (a part of the Fintech Association of Nigeria) was one of 436 recipients who received various national awards.
SecureID Limited is globally certified to manufacture personalised credit and debit cards for clients in 21 African countries as well as all Nigerian banks.
Similarly, the tech firm produces SIM cards for telecom firms, retail loyalty cards, and high-security documents for the government, such as driver’s licenses, national identity cards, and international passports.
