Police arrest, parade 200 criminal suspects in Anambra

No fewer than 200 suspects were arrested for various crimes in the past two months by the operatives of the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in Anambra State.

NNage Obono Itam, Commissioner of Police, made this statement during his maiden Press Briefing at the Anambra State Police Command Headquarters at the weekend

He said that the suspects were arrested for various crimes, including armed robbery, kidnapping, cultism, and drug trafficking.

The Commissioner said that it secured five convictions and still ongoing trials.

“We have rescued unhurt four kidnapped victims, recovered over 33 different brands of Arms which includes AK47, Pump action guns, locally made pistols, and others and
over 1,644 ammunition of various types.

“27 stolen but recovered vehicles and different brands of motorcycles, and monies amongst other exhibits in ongoing investigations,” he said.

Itam however appealed to the public to continue to support the Police in their efforts to combat crime and maintain peace in the State.
