Oyo govt says 50,097 applicants ‘ll partake in CBT exam next week

The Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board (OYOSUBEB) says a total of 50,097 applicants are to take part in the primary school teachers recruitment exercise next week.

Nureni Aderemi Adeniran, Chairman, Oyo State Universal Basic Education Board, who stated this in Ibadan on Wednesday, said those applicants scaled the application exercise and would take part in the computer-based tests for the available positions.

He said the Board had fixed Monday, July 22- Friday July 26, 2024, for the computer-based test (CBT), following the just-ended recruitment application held in the State.

Adeniran said specific date and time for individual applicants was already being communicated to them via their email and/or their phone numbers.

While advising applicants to check their mails, and phones regularly, for confirmation, he added that the venue for the exam is University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre, Computer-Based Testing Centre, Ajibode, Ibadan.

“The Board has approved that the University of Ibadan Distance Learning Centre, Computer Based testing centre, should conduct the computer-based tests for the applicants because of its long-standing pedigree in such examinations”, he added.

Adeniran instructed all applicants to print copies of their CBT examination schedule and their application print-out, bearing their passports, from the job portal.

The OYOSUBEB boss said the two print-outs would admit applicants into the CBT examination hall, adding that said they must adhere strictly to the time and date, sent to them by the Board, as loitering around the centre would not be condoned.

The Chairman maintained that successful candidates from the computer-based tests would be required to appear for oral interview.

Adeniran reiterated the Board’s commitment to a credible exercise, adding that “no applicant should rely on hear-says. The Board will always give you updates on each step of the exercise, so please beware of scammers.”

Adeniran however said the Board is making efforts to conclude the exercise on time so that successful candidates can be quickly injected into the system to join in the ongoing reforms of basic education system in the State.
