Azubuike Onyeabo Ihejirika, a retired general and former Chief of Army Staff, has been appointed Chairman of the Abia State Security Advisory Council.
This is following the approval of the Council and the Board of the State’s Security Trust Fund by Governor Alex Otti of Abia State.
Others appointed to serve in the Security Advisory Council are Uche Ivy Okoronkwo, a retired Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG), who will serve as Vice Chairman, Ray Nkemdirim, Abel Obi Umahi, a retired Army Major General, Emmanuel Chukwu, a retired Air Vice Marshall (AVM), J.O. Nwaogbo, Major General (Rtd) and Macdonald Ubah, a retired Navy Commodore, who will serve as the Secretary of the Council.
The governor in a statement signed by Kazie Ukoh, his Chief Press Secretary and made available to BusinessDay, also approved the appointment of Stanley Obiamarije, to serve as Chairman of the Board of the State’s Security Trust Fund.
Also appointed into the Board of the Security Trust Fund are Greg Okafor, Ngozi Ekeoma, Johnson Chukwu Josephine Nweze, Nkechi Obi and Bank-Anthony Okoroafor. The statement indicates that their appointments take immediate effect.
