Ogun governor assures of more developmental projects

The Ogun State government has promised to continue to embark on projects that will attract more development into the state.

The state governor, Dapo Abiodun, gave the assurance Wednesday while inspecting laying of asphalt on the ongoing reconstruction of Adigbe Road in Abeokuta South Local Government Area.

The governor, who was accompanied by other government officials, pointed out the importance of infrastructural development as a means of attracting more people into the state for economic growth. He said his administration, as one of its pillars of ISEYA, has commenced full rebranding of the entire state.

The number one man added that road construction is already on going in various parts of the state including Sagamu-Abeokuta Road, Adigbe Road, Oba Erinwole Road in Sagamu, Obantoko Road and Ijebu-Ode/Epe Road. He informed that the ongoing reconstruction of Adigbe Road would be extended to Obaada in Ewekoro LGA to enhance the economic value of the axis.

The governor emphasized that the Adigbe Road, which ought to have been completed before now but for the global Covid-19 pandemic, was initially awarded by the Governor Ibikunle Amosun-led administration but was abandoned by the contractor due to nonavailability of funds.

While assuring that the current administration would complete any of the roads inherited from the last administration that will add value to the state economy, Governor Abiodun urged the residents to exercise patience as government is working hard in ensuring timely completion of all the roads for the benefit of the people of the state.
