Indorama wins BusinessDay Agribusiness Company of the Year award

Indorama Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL) was named the “Agribusiness Company of the Year ‘’ at the Businessday Nigeria Business Leadership Awards ceremony which held at the Lagos Continental Hotel, Victoria Island on Saturday.

Publisher of Businessday Newspaper, Frank Aigbogun, noted that IEFCL was nominated and won because of the following reasons:

“First, the company’s track record as one of the largest fertilizer producing companies in Nigeria, employing regenerative processes to guarantee compliance with the global best practices for environment, health, and safety standards.

“Second, Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited has values for maintaining the integrity and highest professional standards at a time when stakeholders and regulators are holding boards accountable to stringent governance expectations.

“Finally, Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited’s sustained commitment to national agricultural transformation, which guarantees food security in Nigeria through the supply of Urea fertilizer to over 20 million farmers across the country has been highly recognised.

“Also in appraising the role of the management in the upward growth curve of the company notwithstanding challenging climate of operation,the newspaper acknowledged “the impressive growth trajectory of Indorama Eleme Fertilizer & Chemicals Limited (IEFCL) under your stewardship, despite a very tough operating environment”.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IEFCL, Munish Jindal, and the Managing Director of Indorama-Nigeria, Manish Mundra, were represented at the event by Rafiu Afeez of the Lagos office, who received the award plaque and expressed appreciation to Businessday Newspaper for the recognition and award.

Indorama Nigeria group has continued to make its presence known in Nigeria and in the Niger Delta starting from petrochemical products that led to revival of over 300 plastic products companies now to a massive supply of fertilizer to boost agro-produce in Nigeria.
