Ekiti revenue service gets capturing devices for enumeration of property

Ekiti to deploy health officers to curb share of maternal mortality

This is coming as Nigeria presently account for about 20 percent of global maternal deaths and with a stillbirth rate of 41.7 percent per 1000 birth account for one of the highest rates of stillbirth in Africa and globally.

Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service (EKIRS) has received the devices to be used for capturing and enumeration of properties for the implementation of the Land Use Charge (LUC) Law in the State.

The enumeration device has a camera, biometric identifier, and also serves as an android, which will be used to interface with the land use charge application.

The Chairman of Ekiti State Internal Revenue Service, Olumuyiwa Ogunmilade, who made this known while taking delivery of the devices, expressed his delight, saying that the devices would fast track the process.

Ogunmilade said the enumeration and tagging process was stalled a bit since the enumeration and tagging of Mr. Governor’s property in Isan was done so as to pave the way for the EKIRS to re-strategize noting that the agency is already behind schedule on the enumeration of properties, but with the devices, the officers will be able to catch up with the time that has been lost and also ease the process of property Identification.

The Chairman also disclosed that the enumeration of the properties is expected to begin on Friday while the next batch of devices for the enumeration of the informal sector will arrive soon.

He however called for cooperation from the people of Ekiti state with the Property Identification Officers or Assessors in the course of discharging
their duties.
