Chigozie Ogbu, Professor and Vice-Chancellor of Ebonyi State University ( EBSU), Abakaliki, has said that the University is set to build an advanced research laboratory for the conduct of biological analysis and other research works.
The laboratory is being facilitated by TETFund. Ogbu stated this during working visit of the members of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ebonyi State Council, to the University’s permanent site at Ezzangbo.
Ogbu a former deputy governor of Ebonyi State, noted that the research laboratory when completed would be the only one of such laboratory in the South -East and South-South regions of the country.
The laboratory would also serve researchers from other parts of the Country, especially parts of the North Central zone such as Benue State and would also serve as a source of revenue to the University.
According to him, one of his major focuses, when he came on board was to improve the research activities of Ebonyi State University (EBSU).
