…As Nneji rallies support, explains benefits of chamber

The Imo State Government has inaugurated the Mbaise Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture with Joe Ogbonna Anosike as the first president of the Chamber.

In his inaugural speech immediately after his presidential investiture, Anosike thanked Governor Hope Uzodimma who was represented by Chika Abazu, commissioner for Trade, Commerce and Industry, for granting the Chamber a smooth take off process.

He also promised that the chamber would not go moribund under his watch.

Abazu described this newest Mbaise Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture as a chamber that would metamorphose into something great if given the right platform and awareness it needs.

He commended the bold initiative of the council members as well as all the stakeholders of the chamber and encouraged them to look inwards and identify exportable products of comparative advantage that could be improved upon because the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Industry is developing a model to showcase every conceivable idea to boost rural economies of the state.

The Commissioner was delighted over the development, attributed the achievement to Governor Uzodimma and his shared prosperity programme.

He also urged Mbaise sons and daughters to come together, register with the chamber for fertilisation of ideas and shun the pull-him-down syndrome in order to achieve the dream of a better Imo State by aggressively drawing down various investments to boost trade and commerce in the state.

Frank Nneji, a technocrat and founder of ABC Transport Plc, explained the benefits and importance of a chamber of commerce.

“There are many benefits that are usually associated with the chamber of commerce. There are many things emerging businessmen and businesses cannot do alone but will most surely succeed when these issues are undertaken as a chamber.

“Te chamber is about advocacy and its aim is to solve business problems as well as promote business activities. I can tell you that the chamber also plays very great role in foreign and local businesses and partnerships.

“Again, the chamber provides training windows even as it brings access to funds and networks to members. Thus, I most sincerely urge you all to join and identify with Mbaise Chamber of Commerce Industry Mine and Agriculture.”
