The Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) received recognition from the Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC), as the best Agency of Government in exemplary teamwork, quality service delivery, and consistency.
The Council also rated the Federal Ministry of Marine and Blue Economy as the overall best-performing ministry in the country.
Jumoke Oduwole, special adviser to President Bola Tinubu on ease of doing business, said at the weekend that 33 operational activities of NIMASA were subjected to thorough scrutiny alongside those of 36 other agencies of the Federal Government.
“We want to commend NIMASA and Adegboyega Oyetola, minister of Marine and Blue Economy, for his commitment to ensuring that all the agencies under the Ministry improve their service delivery consistently,” she said.

Reacting to the award on his official X handle @MobereolaD, Dayo Mobereola, director general of NIMASA, dedicated the award to all members of staff of NIMASA and acknowledged the support of the Minister in providing the right framework for the agency to create an enabling environment for local and foreign investors in the Nigerian maritime space.
“This award from PEBEC and by extension the presidency is a call to serve more. We appreciate our Adegboyega Oyetola, minister, who not only convened a meeting between NIMASA and the PEBEC secretariat but constantly kept us on our toes to ensure better service delivery to stakeholders,” Mobereola said.
PEBEC, which is chaired by Kassim Shettima, vice president, was established to remove bureaucratic constraints to doing business in Nigeria and make the country an easier place to start and grow a business.
This is also in line with the Business Facilitation Act 2023, a legislative intervention by PEBEC to codify an executive order on the promotion of transparency and efficiency in the business environment.
