Star Lager, NOC partner to support Team Nigeria at Tokyo 2020

Nigeria’s premium lager brand, Star Lager beer, has announced a partnership agreement with the Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) in support of Team Nigeria at the ongoing Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, which will see the beer brand provide support to both athletes and coaching crews.

The partnership between both organisations is focused on supporting Team Nigeria on their journey to and through the games, as one of the headline sponsors and official alcoholic drink for Team Nigeria.

“We have ultimate confidence in Team Nigeria to make us proud, their dedication and unrelenting effort is evident and there is no doubting the victory they will achieve with their team spirit,” said Olaoluwa Babalola, senior brand manager, Star Lager, while speaking on the strategic partnership.

According to Babalola, Star Lager Beer seeks to provide unending support to Team Nigeria and encourage Nigerian athletes to create an established name for Nigeria in world sports.

“We anticipate the team’s countless medals and are thrilled to bring people together to enjoy and celebrate Team Nigeria on their journey through the Olympic Games. We have very high hopes for our competent and skilled sportsmen and women to shine,”
Babalola stated.

Team Nigeria will compete in 10 different sports at the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, which are Athletics, basketball, badminton, Canoe, gymnastics, table tennis, swimming, rowing, wrestling, and taekwondo.

With their recent win against the USA, The Nigerian basketball team “D’Tigers“, with eight NBA players included in the team roster – Miye Oni, Jahlil Okafor, Kezie Okpala, and Precious Achuiwa, increased hopes of victory.

The brand has consistently supported sports in Nigeria by partnering with government football bodies like the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF) and the Nigerian Professional Football League (NPFL) and also sponsoring initiatives like the Coaching Clinic among others.
