Nigerian Breweries hikes prices again on rising input cost

Shareholders approve Nigerian Breweries N600bn rights issue as devaluation risk weighs

Nigerian Breweries has announced another price increase on some products effective February 19, 2024.

This was revealed in a statement by Lekan Awosanya, the company’s zonal business manager – West, on Monday.

“This is to inform you that we are constrained to review the prices of some of our stock-keeping units with effect from February 19, 2024,” it said.

The brewer made price adjustments last year which was effective from August 10.

It produces major alcoholic products like Star Lager, Gulder, Legend Extra Stout, Heineken, Goldberg, Life, Star Radler amongst others.

Some alcohol-free drinks under the company include Maltina, Amstel Malta, Fayrouz, Climax Energy drink, and Malta Gold.

The company said the price review has become necessary because of continued rising input costs and the need to mitigate the impact.

It said: “In appreciation of our great partnership and your commitment, we will deliver at current prices all open orders that are fully funded and created in our system before 00.00hrs on Monday.

“The exact quantity of orders that will be allowed will be communicated to you by your regional business manager. Any order in excess of this quantity will be re-invoiced at the new price on February 19, 2024.”
