BusinessDay 5-Aside soccer tourney kicks off on Saturday

All is set for the second edition of BusinessDay 5-aside football competition.  BusinessDay Media Limited, publishers of BusinessDay, Nigeria’s leading financial and business newspaper kick off the second edition of its soccer event: “The Brook 5-Aside Soccer Tourney” which will take place on Saturday, 5th March, at the Mini Stadium, Ibiere Crescent, Apapa, Lagos.

In the male category, four teams; Brook Bombers, Brook Shooters, Brook Liners and Brook Siders will be competing for the trophy.  The Brook Babes and Brook Angels will jostle for the golden price in the female category.

Brook Angels playmaker, Adeola Obisesan vowed that her team is ready to reclaim the cup back from the Brook Babes.

“We are going to beat Brook Babes team this time around, in the first edition, we were not prepared, but now, we have started training and have a more solid squad, ” said Adeola.

Akhiromen Ezekiel Omo, a member of the Brook Siders that won the cup said his side is ready to defend the cup.

“We are going to defend the cup and are preparing hard to win it again. ”

The maiden edition saw solid Brook Siders defeat highflying Brook Bombers to claim with the trophy.

Rugged Brook Babes tutored by Ijeoma Ude, conquered the Brook Angels to win the female cup.

This year edition promises to be more exciting as all the teams are ready to rumble and entertain their fans.

Apart from trophies that will be won, there are plenty of individual awards and cash prices to be taken home.  There will be gift for the most valuable player in the male and female categories.
