A taste of refreshed offerings at Radisson Blu Anchorage

Radisson Blu Anchorage Lagos woos guests with new-look business lounge

The hotel has a reputation of being an “urban resort” signifying a delicate fusion of business and leisure

If you are a buff of unique escape, especially amid nature, there is a good deal for you along the Lagos Lagoon. Yes, Radisson Blu Anchorage, which rightly sits on the bank of the beautiful Lagos Lagoon in the upscale Victoria Island, Lagos, is a good deal for discerning guests and leisure lovers, any day.

Of course, the scenic views of the up-and-coming city, exciting activities on the Lagoon, and enthralling indoor activities and personalised services all combine to boost your stay.

However, the offerings at the Victoria Island-based Anchorage, which is the flagship hotel of the Radisson Hotel Group (RHG) in Nigeria, are even getting more exciting and luxurious with the room offering, which was given a major facelift recently.

If you have visited recently and stayed in any of the renovated rooms, you will appreciate the investment made in upgrading them.

After the room upgrade, which took place during the downtime occasioned by pandemic in 2020, guests’ comfort is priority as each category of the hotel’s 170 rooms and suites comes with unique allure and enduring coziness.

The renovated rooms come equipped with additional charging ports and enhanced internet connection speed. As sleep is one of the key components of the guest’s stay, the renovated rooms come with new beds to complement the overall comfort. To make the room more contemporary, new furnishings were brought in, which capture some semblance of the Nigerian culture. This makes a compelling case for guests to enjoy the view of the Lagos Lagoon or the city’s skyline from the comfort of their rooms.

An excited guest who experienced the priority to guests’ comfort commented on his Facebook account after a weekend visit last Easter saying, “What I witnessed was a room with many views”.

The rooms open your world to exciting views; from the breathtaking Lagos Lagoon and to the sprawling Victoria Island, they come with panoramic views.

Aside from the new-look 170 rooms, there are other reasons to visit the hotel. The renovations also saw other facilities reopening to the guests with improvements. They include; the pool, gym and the business lounge.

The renovations have made the pool and the gym areas rejuvenated, more spacious, easier to work out from and in line with the safety and security protocols that are in place in the hotel.

With the renovations, there is now a membership opportunity to join the gym and use of the infinity pool even though one is not resident at the hotel.

At the completion of the magnanimous renovation project, Ahmed Raza, the general manager of the hotel, was elated and noted that it was the best way of repaying the unwavering loyalty of the guests to the hotel.

“The guests are absolutely blown away by the new products, which give more comfort and convenience as there is more working space for those who are travelling for business purposes or families who are on leisure adventures”, he said.

According to him, with the ushering in of the new product, the focus is to create a distinctly new and rewarding experience, as service remains the fulcrum of the hospitality industry and the team is constantly being trained to ensure the service standards complement the new product.

As well, the guests are appreciative of the renovation gesture. “We have seen a progressive growth in our quality scores as a result of this double pronged approach of enhanced product and service, we continue to thrive to meet and exceed customer expectations”, the general manager confessed.

The next project, according to the general manager, is the Business Lounge, which has also been completed and will be reopening in the next few days. After reopening, the lounge is expected to redefine the perception of luxury and convenience for guests on the business floor. There are also plans to redo the restaurants and lobby areas soon.

But as the Eid holidays are a few days away, the general manager urges would-be guests including families and corporates to use the holiday as a perfect time to plan outings at the revamped hotel, as well as, take advantage of the hotel’s special offers.

It would be recalled that the ambitious, yet well executed renovation project, started in August 2020 at the height of the pandemic, which presented an opportunity to close off some floors and start the upgrade programme.

Well, AJ5, a South Africabased company, which has vast experience in the African market, proved its worth in the upgrade project.
