Africa’s MIT launches online MBA to expand students’ cross-functional exposure

The Nigerian University of Technology and Management (NUTM), a leading tertiary institution dedicated to advancing education in technology, and entrepreneurship, across Africa, has launched its part-time online master of business administration (MBA) in leadership, technology and entrepreneurship.

Kayode Abass, the brands and communications manager at NUTM disclosed this to BusinessDay when he said the innovative programme will offer students a platform to have an expanded interdisciplinary exposure on Africa-centric solutions to piloting a successful organisation in the continent.

Nubi Achebo, the academic director at NUTM speaking on the avalanche of benefits accrued from the MBA, said that students will learn from esteemed faculty hailing from Ivy League and Russell Group universities, complemented by accomplished local industry professionals.

 “We are thrilled to introduce our part-time online MBA, which reflects NUTM’s commitment to providing accessible, world-class education tailored to the needs of Africa,” he said.

 “By combining an interdisciplinary approach with experiential learning and an emphasis on Africa-centric solutions, this programme empowers working professionals to become leaders capable of driving positive change across the continent,” Achebo added.

Focuses on Africa-centric solutions

The management of NUTM maintains that building on the success of the institution’s highly acclaimed scholars programme (NSP), this innovative online MBA will expand students’ access to the university’s world-class interdisciplinary curriculum for working professionals.

According to NUTM management, “The programme combines a unique focus on technology, entrepreneurship, design, management, and leadership, equipping graduates with the skills to drive innovation and tackle complex challenges on the African continent.

“The part-time online MBA offers a cutting-edge curriculum developed in partnership with leading global institutions such as Oxford University, Worcester Polytechnic Institute, and the Indian Institute of Technology.”

Some of the main features of the program include, but are not limited to interdisciplinary curriculum spanning technology, entrepreneurship, design, management, and leadership, and world-class faculty from top global universities and local industry experts.

Emphasis is focused on experiential learning and real-world applications, developing Africa-centric solutions to complex challenges, and flexible online format designed for working professionals
