The Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Ali Pantami has said the government can grow the broadband penetration in Nigeria from 43.30 percent to about 50 percent by the end of 2021 and in the next five years could reach 90 percent.
The minister says achieving the target of digital economy policy and the broadband policy will help the government achieve increased digital access, reduce the digital divide, enhance digital culture, and ultimately ensure the realisation of the digital economy vision as a country.

“Achieving a Digital Nigeria requires providing requisite digital skills to our citizens and we, as a Ministry, have been working vigorously on this,” Pantami said.
The Minister was speaking at the Digital Economy: A New Frontier for Economic Prosperity, program organised to commemorate Digital Nigeria Day.
