Prince Aggreh: Rising above adversity in pursuit of football glory

Prince Aggreh (1)

Prince Aggreh, renowned for his speed and agility, is steadfast in his pursuit of success in the competitive football world.

In 2016, Aggreh took his aspirations to Belgium, training with the prestigious Beerschot Wilrijk team at the Olympisch Stadium. Despite an impressive stint, negotiations between the club and his representatives fell through, preventing him from signing with the Belgian side.

This year, Aggreh joined PDRM FC from Al-Khaldiya FC in Bahrain. After spending about five years playing in the Middle East, the 27-year-old expressed a desire to explore new opportunities.

“My move to Malaysia came out of the urge to test this side of the world as well. I’ve been to Bahrain and Saudi Arabia, and I wanted to play in Asia too. So, when the offer came, I didn’t object. I wanted to go there,” Aggreh explained. “Football in Asia and Arab is good and everything is nice. You just have to prove yourself by showing what you have.”

Throughout his career, scouts have praised Aggreh’s skill and potential, even as his journey has been hindered by injuries and limited playing opportunities, particularly during his time in Riffa City. Seeking stability and a platform to showcase his talent, Aggreh joined East Fifa FC. Though he played fewer matches than desired, he displayed glimpses of his potential.

Critics often highlight his goal-scoring record, but those who watch him closely recognize that Aggreh’s contributions extend beyond statistics. His abilities on the field, evident in numerous video clips, portray him as a talented player waiting for the right breakthrough moment.

His move to PDRM FC was pivotal, as he focused on regaining fitness and contributing to the team’s success. Despite challenges, Aggreh’s talent could soon lead to a surprise move to a top European club.
Aggreh’s story is marked by resilience amid setbacks in playing time and goal-scoring opportunities. However, his dedication in training and commitment to his teams, including providing support to teammates both on and off the pitch, underscore his potential for future success.

Italian scout Matteo Jeba once likened Aggreh to a “different and classy striker” whose potential remains untapped. “He plays like Lukaku but faster and with better dribbling skills,” Jeba remarked, highlighting Aggreh’s unique attributes. Known for his ability to create and score goals, Aggreh also impresses with his dribbling skills and quick footwork, often manoeuvring out of tight defensive situations. His versatility allows him to excel as a second striker, adept at connecting midfield and attack with his intelligent playmaking.

Aggreh remains focused on his journey, aiming to fulfil his potential and make a significant impact in the football world. He featured prominently for Sunshine Stars, Kano Pillars, and later FC Ifeanyi Ubah in the NPFL, earning a call-up to the Super Eagles B between 2015 and 2016, with four caps to his name. Before joining Sunshine Stars in 2013, he also played for Bendel Insurance and Heartland.

Despite the challenges, Prince Aggreh’s determination and talent suggest a bright future ahead in his football career.
