Deontay Wilder has reignited talk of a long-awaited heavyweight showdown with Anthony Joshua after defeating Derek Chisora via split decision in London.
The former world champion returned to winning ways with a hard-fought victory at the O2 Arena, edging Chisora after a gruelling contest that went the distance.

Moments after the fight, Wilder confronted Anthony Joshua, who was ringside supporting Chisora, and issued a direct challenge. The American fist-bumped the Briton and told him, “Let’s do it,” before adding, “He’s scared,” as he walked away.
Speaking later, Wilder doubled down on his intentions.
“It wasn’t just words. I told him, ‘Now let’s get it on.’ I’m ready for whoever,” he said.
“You can call me Mr Clean, because I want to clean up the whole division.”
Anthony Joshua’s presence added intrigue to the moment, with the two heavyweights long linked to a blockbuster clash that has yet to materialise.
The two-time world champion has kept a low profile in recent months following a car accident in Nigeria that claimed the lives of two of his friends. He last fought in December, stopping Jake Paul in the sixth round.
Before Wilder’s win, promoter Eddie Hearn hinted that a strong performance from the American could open the door for a Joshua fight, although discussions have primarily centred on a long-anticipated bout with Tyson Fury.
Fury, however, is set to face Arslanbek Makhmudov next, leaving Joshua’s immediate future uncertain despite reports of a potential autumn showdown.
Wilder’s call-out has now injected fresh momentum into talks of one of boxing’s most elusive heavyweight clashes.
