AFCON: Lookman goal sends Nigeria into semi-finals

Atalanta winger Ademola Lookman scored in the first half to hand Nigeria’s Super Eagles a 1-0 win over Angola in the quarter-final match of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) at the Felix Houphouet-Boigny stadium.

Atalanta winger continued his fine form and scored the opening goal for Nigeria in the 41st minute after Simon Moses made a brilliant run on the right flank before launching a left-footed shoot into Angola’s net to send Super Eagles into the semi-final.

Lookman’s goal gave the Super Eagles the edge as the first half ended 1-0 in a deserved lead at the halfway stage after dominating the majority of the first half.

The second half resumed with Nigeria pressing for the second goal.

Zini who came on as a substitute hits the post for Angola.
