My loyalty to APC cost me my Job – Amayaenvbo

An aspirant for Ovia Federal Constituency seat at the National Assembly, Charity Uyimwen Amayaenvbo has said he lost his job as the Executive Director of the State Internal Revenue Service (IRS), over his loyalty to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Amayaenvbo, who recounted his ordeal to journalists in Benin City, explained that he was relieved of his position over his refusal to dump the APC, alongside Godwin Obaseki who was the State governor at the time, to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in 2020.

“I was earning well as ED of IRS in Edo State at the time, but my driving force was not monetary. I therefore, adhered to my principle, because I didn’t see any reason to leave the APC.

“Moreso, I am not a nomadic politician that keeps on moving back and forth. And ever since, I have been a dominant player in APC… It is in my DNA,” he added.

The aspirant, who is a former regional manager of a commercial bank, attributed his decision to contest the election to his desire to impact the lives of members of his constituency.

It was gathered that the Ovia Federal Constituency seat became vacant following the election of the former holder, Dennis Idahosa as the Deputy Governor of Edo State.

Amayaenvbo, who noted that all aspirants to the seat are eminently qualified, however, urged the party to reward his loyalty by entrusting him with its ticket for the National Assembly bye-election.

According to him, “I believe in the support of every card-carrying member of APC. And any party that wants to maintain a winning stride, loyalty, hard work and exceptional performance should be rewarded.”

The aspirant added that he had shown leadership by galvanising every other member in his unit and ward to achieve victory for APC.
