The Bauchi State Police Command under the Commissionership of Auwal Musa Muhammad has rescued three children kidnapped in Bauchi in North-East but was sold in Anambra State, South-East.
Muhammad said that the rescued was made possible through the collaboration with the Anambra State Police Command.
The Bauchi Police Commissioner also applauded the efforts of other Security Agencies and the unwavering commitment of the first ladies of Bauchi and Anambra States in addressing child trafficking and abuse.
Speaking during the handover of rescued children to the parents, Governor Bala Mohammed urged parents to remain vigilant and prioritise the proper upbringing of their children, calling on the community leaders to play an active role in supervising and protecting their communities.
Governor Mohammed said, “Justice will prevail, and perpetrators of such despicable acts will face the full force of the law.
“I am deeply gratified to announce the safe return of three abducted children to their families. As a Government, we remain steadfast in our resolve to combat these heinous crimes.
“Together, we must remain united to protect the most vulnerable among us – our children”.
