…Wins ECOWAS’ Nelson Mandela Leadership Award

In a remarkable journey of unwavering determination and a commitment to empowering others, Mukaila Odutola Odusanya, affectionately known as “Oga Landlord,” has ascended to new heights in the real estate industry.

His extraordinary contributions to individual and societal development have earned him the prestigious Nelson Mandela Leadership Award for Excellence and Integrity, conferred on him by the West Africa Youth Council of ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States).

Odutola’s life story is a testament to the power of resilience, ambition, and seizing opportunities. Born and raised in Lagos, his early years were marked by a relentless desire to succeed and a profound hunger for education. He understood that education was the key to a brighter future. But with no means of financial support, he embarked on an unconventional path to achieve his dreams.

Initially, he took a job as a security guard, hoping to earn enough to fund his education. However, the meagre salary from this job couldn’t cover his educational expenses. Undeterred by setbacks, he moved to Port Harcourt to live with his younger brother, where he discovered an opportunity in the mobile phone business. He took Odutola to His Royal Highness, King Chike Bobby Ogbonda of Evo Kingdom, Ikwere, Port Harcourt, Rivers State, who gave him a space in a strategic location on his land at the popular Woji Junction to operate his business. With the support, he started making money and was finally able to enrol as a part-time student at Rivers State University of Science and Technology.

During his time at the University, Odutola found a mentor who recognised his potential and offered him a job on an oil rig, providing the financial support he needed to complete his education. His perseverance paid off as he graduated and moved to Lagos to work as a marketer at Villa Angelia Hotel in Victoria Island.

Yet, even with the job, making ends meet was challenging. It was during this period that Odutola decided to leverage a car he had bought while working with the oil company in Port Harcourt by offering Uber services, shuttling hotel clients to the airport to supplement his income.

However, the turning point in his life came when he and a close friend stumbled on a real estate flyer while attending a camp. Both shared an interest in real estate and decided to explore this opportunity, leading them to the world of network marketing with PWAN Group, Nigeria’s foremost real estate network marketing and development conglomerate.

Odutola was immediately drawn to the business’s potential. He joined as a partner, attended PWAN’s free seminars and trainings where he heard inspiring stories of individuals who had transformed their lives through real estate network marketing. He got training and certifications in real estate from PWAN Group.
This ignited a spark of hope and determination within him, and he resolved to make a better life for himself. Despite the initial challenges, Mukaila remained steadfast. He made sales, recruited like-minded individuals, and started earning significant commissions.

His dedication and hard work led him to become the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of PWAN Lekki Business Concerns Limited, a thriving affiliate of PWAN Group.

Under his watch, PWAN Lekki has flourished, establishing 12 estates in Lagos and beyond, including Abakaliki, Ebonyi State; Uyo, Akwa-Ibom State; and Asaba, Delta State. PWAN Lekki’s flagship project, Buckingham Court situated in Asaba, Delta State, has garnered acclaim, offering individuals the opportunity to buy, build, and move in immediately. Another signature estate of PWAN Lekki, Irede Estate. PWAN Lekki, has become a beacon of growth and prosperity under the PWAN Group banner.

His extraordinary journey from humble beginning to becoming a prominent figure in the real estate industry is a source of inspiration. His resilience and determination, along with the mentorship of PWAN Group’s founders, Augustine and Jayne Onwumere, have enabled him to reach great heights.

No wonder the West Africa Youth Council of ECOWAS appionted Odutola as a WEST AFRICAN YOUTH AMBASSADOR and honoured him with the prestigious Nelson Mandela Leadership Award of Excellence and Integrity for his laudable antecedent of hard work, diligence, and commendable works as an advocate and relentless crusader of promoting development for African youth. This recognition is a testament to his outstanding contributions to the development of both individuals and society. Similarly, the Nigeria Youth Advocacy for Good Governance Initiative also bestowed upon him the Golden Role Model Award.

But his impact goes far beyond his personal success.
