Lawrence Jones-Esan, Chief Executive Officer (CEO)/Director of Studies, London Academy Business School, has called on Nigerian leaders to rise as the beacon of leadership that inspires the entire African continent.
Jones-Esan disclosed this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja on Sunday.
Speaking on the title: “Nigeria’s leadership: A catalyst for Africa’s greatness,” he said Africa stood at a pivotal moment in its history and Nigeria, as the continent’s most populous nation, had an unparalleled opportunity to lead the way.

According to him, it’s no secret that Nigeria’s influence transcends borders, and its actions resonate across the entire African continent.
“But for Africa to truly realise its potentials, we must confront a challenge that has held us back for far too long – the attitude of dependence on leadership.
“It’s time for a transformational shift. Nigeria has the potential to be the beacon of leadership that inspires the entire continent. Nigeria possesses the inherent capacity to become the guiding light of leadership that ignites the spirit of the entire continent.
“Mali, Burkina Faso, Gabon, Niger, and many other nations are looking to us with hope, seeking guidance, support, and collaboration. They’re eager for a model of leadership that is rooted in accountability, vision, and empowerment,” he said.
He said there was need for collective prosperity, noting that when Nigeria prospered, Africa would prosper and the economic, cultural, and social influence would elevate the entire continent.
On global impact, he said by fostering a culture of self-reliance and innovation, Nigeria could contribute to solving global challenges while also making its mark on the world stage.
“Our youths are our greatest assets. By leading with purpose, we can provide opportunities and inspire the next generation to drive positive change.
“On regional stability, as a stabilising force in West Africa, our leadership can promote peace and security across the region.
“It’s time for Nigeria to rise to the occasion, fostering a culture of self-reliance, innovation, and collaboration.
“Let’s lead by example, showing the world that Africa’s potential is boundless when we take charge of our destiny,” he added.

He also charged Nigerian leaders to forge an education system that could educate and empower citizens.
He said Nigeria must begin shifting its focus from mere qualifications to real, practical education that harmonised with the economy.
He, therefore, called for a new era of African leadership that celebrated the diversity, empowered the people, and created a continent that all could be proud of.
