Gunmen kill village head in Kaduna

Kabiru Mohammed, the village head of Marke in Dandamisa Ward, Makarfi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, fell victim to a fatal attack by gunmen suspected to be hired killers.

Reports revealed that the assailants, under the cover of darkness, infiltrated the victim’s residence around 12:30 am on Thursday, compelling all occupants out of the compound.

Determined to locate their target, they meticulously scoured the premises, eventually discovering Kabiru and his elder brother, Tukur Mohammed, concealed within the ceiling.

An anonymous member of the community disclosed that despite efforts to evade capture, the gunmen rout out Kabiru, subjecting him to a gruesome demise before setting the house ablaze, rendering retrieval of the victim’s remains impossible.

Expressing dismay over the incident, Aminu Sani Marke, the councilor of Dandamisa Ward, lamented the loss, highlighting the extensive damage inflicted by the assailants who also plundered valuables amounting to millions of naira during their hour-long rampage through the village.

The late Kabiru Mohammed, aged 30, ascended to the position of village head in 2018, symbolizing hope and leadership for the community.
