Easter: Glo urges Nigerians to imbibe virtues of Christ

Globacom

Total telecommunications solutions provider, Globacom, has urged Nigerian Christians to embrace the virtues of Jesus Christ which are love, peace and tolerance.

In a goodwill message released in Lagos over the weekend to mark this year’s Easter celebration, the company congratulated Christians on the successful fast of the Lent period and on witnessing another commemoration of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

“Christ offered himself as propitiation for the sins of the world. His life and messages epitomised love towards mankind and peace to all men. It will, therefore, not be in the true spirit of Christianity if we do not exhibit sacrifice, love and peace as espoused by Christ, the reason for the celebration”, Globacom said in the statement.

The telecoms operator noted that Nigeria would rise above the current challenges being experienced in the country if all embraced love, selflessness and oneness.

“To the followers of Christ, the true message of Easter proclaims the greatest act of love known to man. God’s infinite love for mankind is symbolized by the sacrifice of his only son for the benefit of the human race, a love that will continue into eternity”, it added.

Globacom said it would as usual ensure provision of seamless connectivity to enable its subscribers stay in touch through calls, data and Short Messaging Service (SMS) during and after the Easter celebrations. It also reminded them to make use of the various voice and data services on the network.

Easter celebrations commence with the commemoration of the crucifixion of the Lord Jesus Christ on Good Friday and culminates in Easter Sunday, which is regarded as Christ’s resurrection day.
