Constituency commends ex-Speaker Dogara’s 16-year representation

A group under the banner of G:16 of Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa-Balewa Federal Constituency has commended the former speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara for his impactful 16 years’ representation at the green chamber.

The group, in the commendation, contained in a statement made available to newsmen in Bauchi, said that Dogara outperformed others who had represented the constituency.

Signed by the Chairman of the group, Yusuf Titus Terry, the statement recalled that Dogara was first elected from 2007 – 2015 on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) when he achieved so much for his constituency.

The statement further recalled that after winning the election in 2015 on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC), he was duly elected by his colleagues as Speaker of the 8th Assembly.

“After four years of being the speaker, he was lobbied by the constituents to contest again but Dogara said it was good to allow a new face to represent the Constituency.

He said that n 2019, Dogara donated an ambulance to Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa-Balewa primary health care centres, apart from the earth dams he constructed and provided them with water pumping machines in the three local government areas that constituted the constituency to boost irrigation and dry season farming.

Terry, who also said that it was only during Dogara’s representation that each and every ward in Bogoro, Dass and Tafawa Balewa was able to have access to a good road network, said that Dogara before becoming the speaker, served as chairman  House services, among others.
