CNG Initiative: FG rolls out plans for nationwide deployment

Insufficient filling stations slow FG’s CNG project

The Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (PCNGI) has rolled out its national deployment plan, which is slated to commence 15th to May 30, 2024.

According to Michael Oluwagbemi, Program Director for PCNGI, who disclosed this in a statement, the program is part of the commitment of the Tinubu-led administration to foster sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon emissions in Nigeria.

He explained that the programs which will take place across the country in the period, mark significant milestones in the nation’s journey towards achieving energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and economic prosperity.

“As part of our commitment to fostering sustainable energy solutions and reducing carbon emissions, PCNGI is embarking on an extensive pre-launch itinerary to engage stakeholders, showcase critical gas supply projects, and facilitate the conversion and refuelling infrastructure across the nation.

“These programs fulfil President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s promise to drive Nigeria’s energy transition in the transportation sector leveraging CNG and enabling economic growth.

“These activities mark significant milestones in our journey towards achieving energy efficiency, environmental sustainability, and economic prosperity for Nigeria. PCNGI is committed to fostering collaboration with all stakeholders as we pave the way for a cleaner, greener future,” he said.
