Bill to cut CBN governor’s powers scales second reading at senate

A bill to whittle down the powers of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, on Tuesday scaled second reading in the floor of the Senate.

The bill for an Act to amend section 11 of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN 2007 seeks to bar the Governor, Deputy Governors or Directors of the Apex bank from partisan politics.
