Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, professor of Islamic Studies and vice chancellor, Kwara State University (KWASU), Malete, on Monday expressed concern over some students portraying the image of the institution in a bad light, while noting that students involved in the videos have been identified and will face disciplinary action.
The VC in a statement he tagged ‘The need to protect the name and integrity of Kwara State University’ and made available to journalists in Ilorin read: “Recently, videos have surfaced showing some students behaving in ways that cast our institution in a negative light.
“These individuals, wearing Kwara State University matriculation gowns, conducted themselves in a manner unworthy of students in an institution of higher learning.

“This conduct is a disservice to the hard work your lecturers have invested in shaping you into respectable individuals poised to make an impact on the world. It undermines the image and principles of excellence on which this university was built.
“The students involved in these videos have been identified and will face disciplinary action. This serves as both a warning and a lesson to others who might consider engaging in similar behavior.
“I encourage you to remain law-abiding and focused on your growth and development. On our part, we will spare no effort to ensure you become the best version of yourself.
“I look forward to celebrating your success as ambassadors of this great institution.”
