Philip Ntoh, provost of Abia State College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu, has vowed to change the narratives of the college by ensuring that population of students is up to 3,000 before leaving office.

Ntoh, who stated this at Arochukwu while conducting some select journalists in the state on facility tour, said when he assumed office in 2016 as the provost, he met on ground dilapidated infrastructure, low students enrolment and staff whose morale was at its lowest ebb.

He attributed the low enrolment then to bad road leading to the institution that made many students to withdraw from the college.

The provost further disclosed that most of the buildings erected by the late foremost educationist, Alvan Ikoku in the 30’s were dilapidated, making the college to lose its appeal.

He hinted that before his assumption of office in 2016, TETFUND had withdrawn their intervention because of the abandonment of a project for school of Vocational Educational Education by his predecessors.

“We had to borrow money from Bank to complete the project after which TETFUND restored the intervention because of our ability to work and complete the project,” Ntoh said.

He said through restoration of TETEFUND intervention, his administration had started and completed a number of projects, including, School of Business Education block; School of Science Education; School of Physical and Health Education (fully equipped); School of Education College Auditorium with capacity of 500 persons and School of Arts and Social Services with electronic magic board that can connect any lecture from any part of the world.
