As part of the Global Money Week activities 2015, Skye Bank plc, Credit Awareness and Financial Literacy for All visited and engaged school children in learning about savings and its benefits.

In the two-day series of activities, they thought school children budgeting, the role of financial institutions and the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), among other interesting financial education topics.

They visited Childville School, Ogudu GRA, Lagos, where about 150 children from the senior primary and secondary school classes were in attendance.

At the event, Skye Bank spoke about the benefits of saving, banking and how children could also save with banks. At the end of the session, gift items were presented to each student that attended the event.

Also visited included Wesley School for the Deaf and Pacelli School for the Blind, both in Surulere, Lagos. At Wesley School, the organisers engaged the children in financial education topics, savings, the benefits of saving and the role of the formal financial institutions. Their teachers interpreted the topics to them in sign language. At the end of the session, each child was presented with books.

At Pacelli School for the Blind, the organisers also engaged the children in financial education and then in a question and answer session. Braille Financial Literacy Books were presented to the management of the school for the children. These books are meant to be in the school library for the children to avail themselves of financial literacy knowledge.
