Laterna Ventures partners Dano to develop knowledge capacity for future infopreneurs

In line with its vision of developing knowledge capacity for future infopreneurs in Nigeria, Laterna Ventures Limited has partnered with Dano Milk to host a reading session for children.

Nnaji Charles, corporate affairs manager of Laterna Ventures Limited, said at a reading session organised to mark this year’s International Children’s Day that the company is in the business of enabling infopreneurs by providing information that translates to growth and success.

Charles, who noted that the company has been celebrating the event for many years due to its role in the provision of books to groom the knowledge economy of Nigerians,

“International Children’s Day is a significant one for the company because we understand the place of children as future leaders deserving of relevant information. We’re taking it upon ourselves to ensure we provide that needed guidance, by providing them with the right materials in terms of books and other educational materials that will help them achieve the needed success,” he said.

Charles noted that Laterna Ventures’ investment in rising, inspiring, and motivating future leaders cannot be quantified directly in terms of cash, adding that the company had embarked on several initiatives such as donation of books to public and private schools, and building of libraries in some schools.

He further said that this year’ event, the company decided to engage with Nigerian authors by ensuring that the books used are written and read by Nigerians as a strategic way of telling Nigerian stories.

He implored the government at all levels to give more attention to events that encourage children to see reading as a lifestyle because most of the things children need to succeed in life can be found in books.

“Beyond curriculum-based reading, government and all stakeholders involved in the development of children should encourage them to read for fun, leisure, personal development, and social inclusion and to be abreast of contemporary global issues because the world is a global community,” Charles said.

Schools present at this year’s reading session include Chrisland School Ikoyi and Lekki, and Twincap Private School Lagos.
