CrusaderSterling Pensions Limited (CPL), one of Nigeria’s leading Pension Fund Administrators (PFA) in Nigeria has extended support to the workers of the Lagos Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to mark this year’s World Environment Day.

CPL donated over one hundred sanitation uniforms to LAWMA to enhance workers’ safety and promote environmental sustainability in the state and promised to do more.

World Environment Day, observed annually on June 5, serves as a global platform to raise sanitation awareness, and encourage protection and preservation of the environment.

‘Recognising the importance of this day, CPL expressed its commitment to sustainability and demonstrated its unwavering support for the workers at the forefront of environmental sanitation.

The event took place at LAWMA’s headquarters in Ijora, Lagos, Nigeria where the agency’s representatives were present to receive the uniforms.

Speaking at the event, Ibrahim Odumboni, managing director, LAWMA, commended CrusaderSterling Pensions for the gesture and useful donation to LAWMA.

He stated that the donations came in at the right time and would be used appropriately.

Rotimi Adebiyi, the managing director of CrusaderSterlingPensions Limited, emphasised the importance of supporting people who work tirelessly to protect and preserve the environment.

He said: “We firmly believe that sustainability and corporate social responsibility go hand in hand. We are privileged to contribute to the great work LAWMA is doing by supporting the exceptional individuals who work tirelessly to ensure a clean and safe environment for us”.

The donation of sanitation uniforms not only addresses the immediate needs of the LAWMA workers but also encourages a sense of responsibility among the workforce.
