15 companies win big at 2020 edition of Nigeria’s Great place to Work awards

A total of 15 companies were recognized at the 2020 edition of the Great Place to Work awards. The companies whose business operations cut across various sectors and industries were celebrated for standing-out as a great workplace and a successful organization by committing to employees welfare.

They were rewarded under three categories including best workplaces for small corporate organisations, medium corporate organisations and large corporate organisations.

For the small corporate organization’s category, SC Johnson won, followed by FBN Holdings, Ideashouse (3rd), Pfizer (4th) while FBNQuest Trustees came fifth

For the Medium Corporate Organizations, Betking (5th), FBN Quest Merchant Bank (4th), Novartis (3rd), Oando Plc (2nd), and Courteville Business Solutions Plc clinched the 1st position.

The final category, Large Corporate Organization Best Workplaces 2020 was won by Sterling Bank Plc, PWC (2nd), FIDSON (3rd), TVC (4th), and First Bank Nigeria Limited (5th).

Toyin Sanni, CEO, Emerging Africa Group, while the keynote address titled, “Stand Out” congratulated the Great Place to Work Organization and Victor Ligbago, it is Country Director as well as all award nominees and participating companies on a great and worthwhile initiative

“I thank you for the honour of being your Keynote Speaker tonight. To stand-out as a great workplace and a successful organization, you need to commit to doing well by your people. Every single one of them has a dream in their mind of where they would love to work and where they wish they were working,” Sanni said

She further added that for any reputable company looking to achieve and sustain long-term success, it is critical to create and maintain a great work environment.

Every year, Great Place to Work Nigeria recognizes the best companies to work for by assessing companies which have demonstrated the main attributes of a great workplace. These attributes include: companies where the employees trust their employers, have pride in what they do and enjoy the people they work with. These Companies must also show courage and confidence to build the kind of workplace where organizational objectives are met by employees who give their personal best and work together as a team.
