Wealthy Nigerians expand connections at Investment Gateway Summit in St Kitts

The St. Kitts and Nevis Investment Gateway Summit witnessed an impressive turnout from Nigeria, with an exclusive number of entrepreneurs and business leaders embracing the twin-island federation as their second home.

The Nigerian contingent’s robust participation underscored the growing interest in the Citizenship by Investment Programme of St Kitts and Nevis.

Many Nigerians, who now proudly call St Kitts and Nevis their ‘second home’ had the opportunity to visit the Federation and enjoy the exclusive networking opportunities at the Summit.

Prominent figures from the oil industry, information technology, and real estate sectors marked their presence, further enhancing the event’s significance.

One of these economic citizens expressed an immediate connection with the country right upon landing in St. Kitts and Nevis. Coming from Lagos, an entrepreneur was awestruck by the beauty, and extensive development of roads and infrastructure in the Federation.

During the various cultural festivities at the summit, he remarked on the profound experience of seeing the African-Caribbean culture and feeling a connection with his ancestors.

Notably, many economic citizens enjoyed the Federation with their families, expressing that they will cherish the memories forever and look forward to returning frequently.

The Investment Gateway Summit took centre stage at the Marriott Resort from 10 July to 15 July 2024.

Another investor with strong ties to the oil industry was captivated by the remarkable networking opportunities and connections made at the summit. Discussing her prospects, she expressed enthusiastic plans to invest in St. Kitts and Nevis.

A Nigerian entrepreneur, who is exploring the path of second citizenship, highlighted the island’s high potential in sustainable agriculture and meat production. He also emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Caribbean and Africa to foster mutual development and prosperity.

He noted that with its abundant open land, St. Kitts and Nevis could become a key exporter of organic goat meat.

The five-day summit included several panel discussions, effective speeches, as well as an exciting tour of the country’s landscape and culture. Starting with a welcome cocktail on 10 July, the event concluded with a farewell breakfast at Kittian Hill.

The summit also included a fully planned tour of the island of Nevis, where the attendees had a chance to immerse themselves in the beauty of the twin-island federation. From music, to dance and food, the Investment Gateway Summit 2024 has truly been an event that will be marked on the calendars for those who missed the iconic event.

Notably, the Investment Gateway Summit 2024 was the first of its kind event hosted by any country in the world. The inaugural event brought together economic citizens, investors, and c-suite individuals from different parts of the globe. The event also coincided with the Citizenship by Investment Programme celebrating its 40th anniversary and stands as the oldest, most renowned in the world.

The dates for next year’s Investment Gateway Summit will be set later this month, fuelling even greater anticipation. According to reports, the second edition of the summit is planned to be hosted in late April 2025, promising to be “bigger and bolder” than ever before.

St Kitts and Nevis aim to build on the success of this year’s event by expanding the scope and scale of the summit, attracting even more influential investors and industry leaders.
